Year-round camping

The campsite overlooks beautiful Lake Vänern and Mariestad. On the grounds, you’ll find a football field, zip line, and playground next to the swimming cove.

With us, you stay comfortably with plenty of space between caravans. It’s close to convenient service buildings with fresh showers, toilets, washing machines/tumble dryers, and a kitchen. There are 115 caravan and motorhome pitches on site in total. Tent pitches can also be rented. Electricity and water are available at all pitches. We rent out pitches by the day, week, or year-round.

Rent a cabin

There are 4 cabins available for rent, and more will be built in the near future. Three cabins are 15 sqm and sleep four people. These cabins are located in the camping area and are equipped with a kitchenette, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment, and TV. Fiber internet will be connected shortly. Sheets and pillowcases can be rented for 100 SEK/set at the reception.

The fourth cabin is 25 m² and also accommodates four beds (a bunk bed and a sofa bed) and is beautifully located by the restaurant and the lake. The cabin is equipped with a kitchen, microwave, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment, and TV. Fiber internet is connected. Sheets and pillowcases can be rented for SEK 100/set at reception.

Available plots for sale

There are vacant plots for sale to build cabins in the summer cottage area, as well as opportunities to build houses in the new area. On each plot, you can build 70 sqm (main cabin), 25 sqm (guest cabin), and 15 sqm (shed). Total building rights are 110 sqm per plot.
The plots are part of a community association that manages water, roads, and the beach. All plots have water and electricity at the plot boundary.

Pitches

Motorhome pitches by the water with a fantastic view of Östersundet in the harbor area at Sundsörn Mariestad. Reception is available and payment is made at Restaurang Brygghuset, located 75–100 m from the pitches. Bookings can be made at 0501 23026 or 0501 393150.
Restaurang Brygghuset also serves as the reception for the campsite, which is located 350–400 m south of the motorhome pitches. The campsite and pitches are open year-round. Brygghuset is fully licensed and offers a first-class view along with an à la carte menu, pizza, salads, and more.

Price per night 250 SEK incl. electricity

Motorhome pitches are only for Class 2 passenger vehicles. Toilets are available at the restaurant and are open 24/7.

Environment & ecotourism

Sundsörn Camping has a long-term environmental focus, and we are part of an ecotourism network that develops nature-based and sustainable tourism in the biosphere reserve.
We are all responsible for sustainable development so that future generations can continue to live in a good climate.

We use solar cells to heat water, and our goal is to install more energy panels so we can utilize solar energy as efficiently as possible.

Low-energy bulbs are used throughout the facility, along with eco-labeled and Nordic Swan-labeled cleaning products. We use waste sorting, and we are also looking into the possibilities of composting food waste on-site.
