In the late 1940s, Arthur and Karin Abrahamsson made land available for summer cottages in the Sundsörn area, and in the 1970s their son Olof and his wife Karin took over the business.
With great commitment and a clear vision of what they wanted to create, they went on to further develop the summer cottage area with a detailed development plan, while also starting a profitable potato and strawberry farm. In 1995, a complete renovation of the area began: the swimming beach was cleared and made suitable for bathing, roads were expanded, and water was installed throughout the area.

The following year, Restaurant Brygghuset was built with its fantastic view over Östersundet. Karin Abrahamsson was a very enterprising and driving woman regarding both the construction and management of the restaurant as well as the other parts of the business. In 2002, construction began on the campsite, which was completed in 2004, but unfortunately neither Olof nor Karin got to enjoy the fruits of their hard work.
Six months apart, they both passed away at far too young an age. Their son Johan and his wife Malin then took over the family farm and continued running the campsite, the restaurant, and the cottage area.

Today, Sundsörns Camping is run by the fourth generation of the Abrahamsson family, led by Johan and Malin. Their children help out as much as their studies allow, and the hope is that the fifth generation of the Abrahamsson family will take over in due course. Sundsörns Camping stands for safety, service, heart and soul, which is reflected in the high number of returning guests year after year. Looking ahead, the plan is to create a rural idyll with a small farm. The idea is to let children and adults help care for the animals, to learn and understand the value of empathy and the importance of looking after animals and nature.
